WHAT: The 15th Annual Temecula Film & Music Festival ‘Hollywood’s best kept secret’, will hold their
opening night ceremonies, beginning with the annual vintage car parade, filled with celebrities, city
officials and several of our local troops from the First Reconnaisance Battalion of the 1st Marine
Division of Camp Pendleton in their resplendent dress blues will kick off the festivities and the opening
night red carpet screening. This year the festival will open with a most delightful film filled with laughter,
sweetness and some very famous faces as ‘Love Hurts’, starring Richard Grant, Carrie-Anne Moss, Johnny Pacar, Jenna Elfman, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim and Rita Rudner, celebrates the
US premiere of their film at this years TVIFF. Other major surprises are expected for this evening of
celebration.

Temecula, Calif. August 28, 2009 - The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF) is proud to announce music icons Earth Wind & Fire, Film Composer John Debney, High School Musical’s Lucas Grabeel, Rising Music Artist Steve Rushton, Record Producer Narada Michael Walden , local patrons of the arts Dan and Beverly Stephenson and the maverick Slamdance organization as the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival’s Lifetime and Career Achievement Award recipients. Presented by Pechanga Resort & Casino, The Awards Gala is the Festival’s Closing Black Tie affair, with Adam Gaynor, former Member of Matchbox 20, slated to host.
“We are proud to honor these tremendously accomplished individuals and institution. Their collective body of work and achievements are amazing. From the iconic to the distinguished to the maverick young talent---we have them all this year!" states Festival Director, Jo Moulton.
The Daniel L. Stephenson Humanitarian Award for Lifetime Achievement in Music and extraordinary impact on American Culture through the Performing Arts will be presented to the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire. This amazing band is simply one of the most important, innovative, and celebrated contemporary Pop / R&B music forces of the 20th century. The band has had a remarkable career spanning over four decades with accolades, awards and record-breaking achievements, including 8 Grammy awards, 23 Grammy award nominations, 50 gold and platinum albums, over 90 million albums sold worldwide earning them a place on the list of best selling music artists of all time.
The youngest recipient to ever receive the Pechanga Maverick Star Award will be High School Musical’s Lucas Grabeel, for Outstanding Career Achievement in Film & Music. At 24, Lucas has worn many hats as an actor, singer, director, producer and executive producer. The festival will screen two short films (Chuckle Boy, Real Son) and two music videos that Grabeel has either produced, directed, acted or sang in. Grabeel is expected to attend the entire festival from Opening Night to performing at the Saturday MusicFest and receiving his award at the Closing Night Awards Gala.
The Founder’s Award for Outstanding Career Achievement in Film Composer will be presented to Academy Award nominated composer John Debney. His credits include musical scores for Bruce Almighty, the Passion of Christ; Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2, The Princess Diaries, Sin City, Raising Helen and Chicken Little.
On tap to receive the prestigious Terry Gilmore Award of Excellence for Outstanding Career Achievement in Music as Record Producer is multi Grammy winner, Narada Michael Walden. Artists as diverse as Aretha Franklin, Wynonna Judd, Stevie Wonder- these and literally scores of others have sought out Walden to create some of the biggest hits of their careers. Walden was an integral part of introducing such superstars as Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey to millions of fans worldwide, by creating the breakthrough hits that first brought these divas in to the spotlight.
As the pre-eminent film festival whose mantra, ‘by filmmakers, for filmmakers’ resounds at every level of its organization and plays a part in all its undertakings, SLAMDANCE will be honored with the Distinguished Institution Award. Commenting on the award, TVIFF Film Program Director Steve Montal said, "Slamdance's commitment to independent filmmaking and its remarkable achievements are a tribute to the thousands of directors, producers, screenwriters and artists whose careers and craft have been shaped by a festival whose sole mission is to nurture and showcase the next generation of independent filmmakers."
Local patrons of the arts, Daniel and Beverly Stephenson will be honored with the Mayor’s Visionary Award for their lifetime patronage of the arts and culture in Temecula Valley. They have been supporters of the festival since its inception and have contributed greatly to its growth and success.
The TVIFF Rising Star Award honor goes to Hollywood Record’s emerging Music artist, Steve Rushton. In 2009, Steve Rushton songs have appeared in three #1 box office hit movies, a feat never before achieved by a solo music artist. With a cameo in Hannah Montana: The Movie, two songs on that film’s soundtrack and a Radio Disney hit of his own, his single Emergency from Race to Witch Mountain and his latest release, Ready to Rock from the film G-Force. Steve Rushton is breezing along on a career fast track.

PRESENTS MUSIC FEST 2009 PERFORMANCES THROUGHOUT TEMECULA
Temecula, Calif. (August 27, 2009) --- The Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival has chosen its performers for the annual MusicFest portion of the event on September 11 and 12, 2009. Over 300 musicians and bands from across the nation submitted music demos in hopes of being one of the top 12 finalists. Judges consisted of industry professionals representing the three music capitals in the country: New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles.
The finalists of the 2009 MusicFest are: Nova, Chase and the Reach, SoulJourners, Jason Damato, The Bayliens, Punchface, TwentyFour64, Danielle Tucker, A Dull Science, Katie Costello, Will Champlin, The Hayzel Project. The finalists will perform live from 6pm to 10pm at La Cereza Winery, 34567 Rancho California Road, Temecula on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12. Special guest performances on Saturday, September 12 are Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical), Eric Baines (Melrose Place), Angelique Cooper (Singer), and Bando Machos.
Semi Finalists will perform at Tower Plaza Shopping Center, on northwest corner of Rancho California Road and Ynez Road, on Saturday, September 12 from 4-6pm, and in Old Town Temecula from 12 to 4pm at The Edge, Baily’s, Sweet Lumpy’s, and 5th Avenue Dog House. (August 26, 2009) – The MusicFest portion of the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival is buzzing with excitement at the announcement of special performances on Saturday, September 12 from 6pm to 10pm at La Cereza Winery, 34567 Rancho California Road, Temecula, by Lucas Grabeel (High School Musical), Eric Baines (Melrose Place), Angelique Cooper (Singer), and Bando Machos.
Lucas Grabeel is best known for his role as Ryan Evans in the Disney Channel telefilm High School Musical. He has also made guest appearances on TV series such as Boston Legal, Til Death, Veronica Mars, and Smallville; and appeared in films College Road Trip and Lock and Roll Forever. Eric Baines played Jeffrey Nordling on TV series Melrose Place and was bass player for the High School Musical concert tours. Angelique Cooper is an up and coming talented artist.
Banda Machos popularity has spread from Mexico to the U.S. since 1990. Their 13-member band was nominated for a Grammy in 2006. Sold out performances include songs like Casimira, Al Gato y Al Raton, Un Indio Quiere Liorar, and Lena De Pirul.

AUGUST 12, 2009, TEMECULA, CA: The 15th Annual Temecula International Film and Music festival is proud to announce that the multi-grammy nominated, rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor, former member of MATCHBOX 20, will be hosting the upcoming Music Festival and Closing Night Awards Gala.
Gaynor who has been a part of one of the most celebrated rock bands for over 10 years and who has sold over 25 million records, will be taking the reigns as host this year. Funny man Gaynor was the mouthpiece for Matchbox 20 and held some of the most entertaining interviews on the air. His sharp sense of humor is certain to keep the audience wanting more.
The MusicFest in the Vineyards will take place Friday and Saturday, September 11th & 12th at the La Cereza Winery from 6-10pm. The festival will feature emerging, up and coming, independent recording artists, bands and vocal performers. Gaynor is sure to please the music industry professionals and music fans from all genres who will be in attendance.

Exciting and Eclectic Line Up of Films, Music and Talent for 2009 TVIFF
Temecula, CA (August 10, 2009) --- The 15th Annual Temecula Film & Music Festival ‘Hollywood’s best kept secret’, will open with a most delightful film filled with laughter, sweetness and some very famous faces. This year, on Sept. 9th, 2009, beginning at 5:00 p.m., the opening night red carpet will be filled with some wonderful talent, as the cast of ‘Love Hurts’ celebrates the US premiere of their film.
‘Our opening film, ‘LOVE HURTS’, will have its world premiere in Strasbourg, France last week of August.’ states Festival Director, Jo Moulton. “We are most honored to host the US debut in the Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country two weeks later at our festival.”
Written and directed by Barra Grant, the film is a light hearted look at a father & son facing the experiences of love and the loss of it together.
‘I was compelled by the idea of telling two love stories at once. A husband and a wife struggle to rediscover what brought them together while their son embarks on the first true romance of his life.’ states writer/director Barra Grant. ‘It was a creative journey I found irresistible.
Opening night has become as celebrated as the closing finale, with a star-filled red-carpet leading right into a glamorous cocktail pre-screening reception. Many of the talented cast of ‘Love Hurts’, Richard Grant, Carrie-Anne Moss, Johnny Pacar, Jenna Elfman, Janeane Garofalo, Camryn Manheim and Rita Rudner, will be joining festival guests at the Movie Experience 10 at Tower Plaza (E. I-15 @Ynez Road & Rancho California Road). Filmmakers, Music Artists, city dignitaries, festival sponsors and special guests from the film and music world will lead the way into the opening night film screening and post-screening party to launch the days of festival activities.
"Our final selection of films this year encompasses films from our own backyard all the way to Russia, Scotland, Brazil, India, France and Beijing,” said Steve Montal, director of Programming. “The program for TVIFF 2009 is the most diverse and international ever. It is humbling to know that even in this difficult economy, our festival continues to grow and be recognized as a significant event for independent filmmakers and young talented music artists to present their work,” adds Montal
‘Young talent’ also seems to be a reoccurring theme this year. Young star Lucas Grabeel, known best for his role in the ever popular High School Musical films, is a perfect example. He will be in attendance for two short films (CHUCKLE BOY, REAL SON) and a music video selected to screen at the festival (YOU GOT IT). In addition, he will be honored at the Closing Awards Ceremonies, with the Pechanga Maverick Star Award, for his extraordinary diverse talent and the impressive body of work he has amassed in both film and music as Music Artist, Producer, Director and Actor. Lucas will be the youngest recipient of this particular award in the 15 year history of the Festival. Past recipients have been Smokey Robinson and Lalo Schifrin.
Other Closing Ceremony Award recipients include prolific film composer John Debney, Disney’s Steve Rushton, local patrons of the arts Daniel and Beverly Stephenson and in a bold move, the Temecula Valley International Film and Music Festival will honor another film festival, SLAMDANCE , with the Distinguished Institution Award for their outstanding and innovative leadership in championing independent filmmaking.

BANDA MACHOS TO PERFORM AT
TEMECULA VALLEY INTERNATIONAL FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL
Temecula, Calif. (July 27, 2009) – The popular music group Bando Machos will make a special appearance at the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival on Saturday, September 12, 2009. The band is happy to support a short film finalist “Crossing the Line” by Paul Bunch, in which they appear.
Bandos Machos will be at the screening of the film on Saturday, September 12 between 3pm – 5pm at 27527 Ynez Road inside The Movie Experience theater. They will later perform in the MusicFest portion of the event between 6pm and 10pm at La Cereza Winery, 34567 Rancho California Road.
Bandos Machos was well received at their first appearance in 1990 in Villa Corona, Jalisco, Mexico. Since then they have been recognized throughout the U.S., Mexico and abroad by their music and their appearance – always wearing gabardines, boots and hats. They popularized a style known as la quebradita throughout the Los Angeles area. In 1993, they were awarded Revelation of the Year by Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro Music Awards. In 1995, they received a Furia Musical award for Best Mexican Band, and continued to release albums throughout the decade. They showed themselves as more than a fad as they entered the new millennium with “20 Mil heridas,” which was nominated for a Grammy in 2006. They were also nominated four times for the Latin Grammy.
In the short film “Crossing the Line” they are the beloved band of an ill woman. The comedy is about a L.A. cop, Chris Connely, who travels with his wife to Mexico to visit her Abuelita. During the gathering the woman has a heart attack. The family turns from the cop who refuses to smuggle her into the U.S. Now abandoned with only the clothes on his back, he must find a way back to the States. Banda Machos comes to his rescue.

Volunteer Sign-ups and Orientation
Temecula, Calif. (July 27, 2009) --- The Temecula International Film & Music Festival will have its volunteer meeting and orientation on Saturday, August 1 at 10am. August 9 at 10am, and August 26 at 7pm. The meeting location is 27527 Ynez Road in Tower Plaza Shopping Center, next door to Scarcella's Restaurant.
Volunteering at the Festival is an opportunity to be a part of the behind the scene-excitement. Learn the nuts and bolts of putting a festival together while working in a creative and stimulating atmosphere. We are seeking volunteers who are willing to contribute their time, enthusiasm and hard work to the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, ranging from students to retirees. We look for fun, creative and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with the public, understand the importance of being reliable and have a love for film and music arts. Volunteers are needed in operations, box office, hospitality, special events, marketing and public relations.

SUMMER CONCERT SERIES DEBUT AT TOWER PLAZA
The Tower Plaza Shopping Center partners with the organizers of the
Temecula Valley Film and Music Festival and Timmy d. Productions
to launch a 6-week summer entertainment series.
Temecula, CA (July 9, 2009) The Tower Plaza Shopping Center in Temecula celebrates the summer with its popular Summer Concert Series in July and August, 2009.
“We’re excited to spotlight some talented musicians that are ready to give a great show,” states Jo Moulton, Festival Director. “We hope this series will prepare everyone for an incredible Film & Music Festival this September.”
The Summer Concert Series will take place every Saturday evening for six weeks, from 5-8 pm, beginning July 18 and ending August 22. All of the concerts are free, open to the public and will take place in the gazebo area of the Tower Plaza Shopping Center, located on the northeast corner of Rancho California and Ynez Road. Concert goers are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable viewing and listening.
Shoppers and music lovers will be entertained with a series of musical performances, which include a mix of rock, pop, country, jazz, reggae, and more.
The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the CR Group in cooperation of the organizers of the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival and Timmy d. Productions.

Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival
Invites Community To Sneak Previews
Temecula, CA. (July 2, 2009) – Have a hand in the official film selection process of the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF) during the Community Sneak Preview Nights, presented by Cinema Entertainment Alliance’s Temecula Valley Film and Music Society. The festival is slated for September 9-13, 2009. Enjoy an intimate setting, screen the most recent film submissions, be a film critic and help decide which films will be accepted into the festival.
The screenings will take place at The Tower Plaza Shopping Center at 27485 Ynez Road (next to Texas Loosey’s) beginning at 6 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday, July 23; Friday, July 24; Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31. The event is free to Film and Music Society members, non-members are $5.

Temecula’s world renowned and respected festival. Currently there are open positions for film presenters, A / V techs, projectionists,

Festival Announces Call for Entries for Filmmakers & Bands
Temecula, CA (May 1, 2009) -- For over a decade now, filmmakers and musicians from across America and around the globe have come to Temecula every September to participate and enjoy in the celebration of the two most influential, enduring and entertaining art forms -- Film and Music. Now in its 15th year, the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF) is ready to roll again on September 9-13 and is now accepting entries for both film and music. The festival’s tradition of presenting excellence in film and music has featured emerging styles from North America and 20+ countries around the world—and this year will be no different.
The festival is open to US and Foreign films in five categories: Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Animation and Student Films. To be eligible, a film entry must have been completed in 2007, 2008 or 2009. All film entries must be submitted on DVD’s to be considered for selection. All genres and film lengths are welcome. The music competition component of TVIFF is designed to showcase the music vision and artistic wizardry of talented individuals and groups from across America and the world. Emerging, up and coming and unsigned performing artists and bands of all genres of music - from rock, jazz and pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Latin, Country, Folk, and World are welcome to enter.

TEENS LEARN TO MAKE MOVIES THIS SUMMER AT
3rd ANNUAL TVIFF SUMMER YOUTH FILM CAMP
With Award Winning Producer and Director Allan Goldstein
Temecula, CA, May 1, 2009 — Teens from in and around the Temecula area will have another shot at telling their stories on the big screen this summer, thanks to a partnership announced between the Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival (TVIFF), Cinema Entertainment Alliance and award winning producer/director Allan Goldstein. The two-week TVIFF Film Camp is scheduled for Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 17, 2009.
Teens aged 13-18 will have the opportunity to create their story, write a script; direct, shoot, act and oversee the edit of short films while working in teams, learning about each part of the filmmaking process. All activities are hands on and they will experience what it’s like to work on a real film set using professional camera and editing equipment along side professional filmmakers. A certificate of completion will be awarded, along with a compilation DVD of all the short films produced at the camp, with admission of their completed film into the 15th Annual Temecula Valley International Film & Music Festival held September 9-13, 2009. New to this year’s camp is the offering of both the Beginner’s Foundation Level and Intermediate level camps. Underwriting permits the cost of the camp to be set at a below market tuition of $895.00 for the two week session.
The TVIFF SUMMER YOUTH FILM CAMP is part of Cinema Entertainment Alliance and TVIFF's commitment to provide a mentoring, supportive and professional environment for aspiring filmmakers. Writer, director and producer Allan A. Goldstein will once again be the Film Camp Program Director and Master Instructor. The Canadian native is a three time Emmy-Nominated Director, nominated eight times for the Genie Awards and won an ACE award, for Best Director of a Network Special, for the film TRUE WEST. In addition to Goldstein, film camp participants will be mentored by highly credentialed producers and directors.
